Getting Started

UNISA has a great step by step guide for their process available on their website which also serves as part of their registration process, as such we will be making constant references to it within this summarised registration guide.

Some important info and requirements to note:

  • Applicants (new applicants & UNISA students who applied for admission to a new qualification) may only register if they have received an offer of placement from UNISA and have accepted the offer online. UNISA reserves the right to not process and / or to cancel your registration if it is found that you were incorrectly admitted to a qualification.

  • Re-registering students must register for the 2021 academic year during the relevant registration period.

  • For Higher certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, BTech & degrees, including the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and also for all Honours degrees & postgraduate diplomas Only online registrations will be accepted. No walk-in / self-help registrations.

  • All the above mentioned have their registration for all semester 1, semester 2 & year modules open from 5th January to 31st March 2021, with the due date for minimum payment on the 31st of march for all modules except 2nd semester modules which have a due date on the 31st of May and the due date for final payments on 31st August for all modules.

  • The last date for cancellation of 1st & 2nd Semester modules is the 31st of August on which date cancellation afterwards will result in only the full payment being forfeited and not the minimum payment. For year modules, to forfeit the minimum and 2nd payments you must cancel before 15th May after which date you will be liable to pay both payments if cancelled but you can still avoid paying the final payment if you cancel before 31st August after which date you will be liable to pay all outstanding fees.

  • To add modules, login to myUnisa. Choose the myAdmin link, click on "Student Admin" and then on "Register Additional Modules".
